From Our Founder

I founded Bridged after receiving numerous messages from young individuals who expressed a desire to work in sports or entertainment but faced several challenges. Some struggled to find opportunities and see a way into the industry to start their careers. Others sought advice on where to look for jobs, appropriate courses to study at university, and what types of roles were available. While a number shared that because they could not see many people from similar backgrounds working in these industries, they felt it wasn’t a viable path for them.

And they are not the only ones who have faced these challenges:

Not so long ago, I was in a similar position after I decided I wanted to pursue my passion for sports. Aside from being an agent, coach, and manager, I had little knowledge of the various roles available in the sports and entertainment industries. The only way I was exposed to the variety of roles available and began to build my network of industry professionals was because of the opportunities and resources I took advantage of whilst at Loughborough University and during my placement year at Wasserman. This ultimately helped me land my first full-time job as a Commercial and Brand Strategy Executive.

So, Bridged was created to close the gap between aspiring individuals and the sports and entertainment industries by tackling these two challenges. First, the sports and entertainment industries continue to be closed off and difficult to enter. Ultimately, the viability of these industries as a career for young people is hugely influenced by the visibility of diverse individuals and their journeys into these sectors. Secondly, there is a significant lack of awareness about the different roles available and the resources, opportunities and initiatives out there to help people start and grow their careers.
